Job Description:
The Department of Emergency Medicine, Division of Clinical Ultrasound, at Michigan Medicine is recruiting an academic faculty member to serve as the Advanced Emergency Medicine Ultrasound (AEMUS) Fellowship Director for its EUFAC-accredited AEMUS fellowship. The position has responsibility, authority, and accountability for the AEMUS fellowship at the University of Michigan.
Areas of responsibility will include:
Leading administration and operations of the fellowship
Leading US fellow recruitment and selection
Assessing and managing fellow competency, professionalism, and development in education, research, and services domains.
Leading AEMUS fellow clinical ultrasound curriculum and education
Co-directing the Pediatric Emergency Medicine Ultrasound Fellowship and Family Medicine Ultrasound Fellowship
Ensuring continued Emergency Ultrasound Fellowship Accreditation Council (EUFAC) accreditation.
Participate in teaching, scholarly activity, and other duties as assigned by the Division Chief as a member of the Clinical Ultrasound Division.
Qualifications:
Candidates must hold or be eligible for the ABEM Focused Practice Designation (FPD) in AEMUS
Reporting Structure:
Reports to the Division of Clinical Ultrasound Chief and Associate Chair for Education.
Clinical Effort:
The total expected number of clinical hours per year for this role is 1,056 hours. In addition, members of the Clinical Ultrasound Division Faculty perform a variable amount of their clinical hours as clinical ultrasound scanning time, which may range from 48-144 hours of their annual clinical target.
