Mid-Career and Senior Academic Emergency Physicians: EMS, Ultrasound, Health Equity/Social EM
The Department of Emergency Medicine at Boston Medical Center (BMC)/Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine (BUCAMED) is seeking applications for Faculty positions at the rank of Assistant, Associate and Full Professor. Candidates contribute significantly to the patient care, community engagement, academic, and education missions of the department. They will care for patients and supervise medical students, PA students, Advanced Practice Providers and residents at Boston Medical Center.
We are recruiting candidates to join a diverse faculty. Areas of focus for recruitment are: Local/Global Health Equity/Population Health/Social Emergency Medicine, Emergency Medical Services, and Advanced Emergency Ultrasound. Ideal candidates would be ready to lead in academic and scholarly pursuit and mentor early career faculty, fellows and residents in their defined area. In the area of EMS, the candidate should be able to serve as Fellowship Program Director.
The Department of Emergency Medicine at BMC/BUCAMED has over 30 faculty who practice in one of the busiest emergency departments in the country and teach in one of the most prestigious residency programs. The BMC EM residency program is a 4-year training program based in an urban, academic, Level-1 trauma center in the heart of Boston. It is the first program in the city and one of the oldest in the Northeast. BMC has a dedicated pediatric ED and a fellowship in Pediatric EM. We have an active research division with expertise in health equity, public health, trauma and violence, infectious diseases, substance use disorders, medical education, clinical operations, ultrasound, and EMS.

BUCAMED is ranked 30th Among Research Medical Schools and 41st Best in Primary Care in US News & World, and 33rd Best University for Medicine (worldwide) in Times Higher Education.
Minimum requirements: Completion of an ACGME-approved Emergency Medicine residency; ABEM/AOBEM certified or eligible; meet requirements for and obtain Massachusetts Medical Licensure and clinical privileges in Emergency Medicine at Boston Medical Center. Administrative and leadership experience in academic emergency medicine. The successful candidate must qualify for a full-time academic faculty appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor or higher in the Department of Emergency Medicine at the Boston University School of Medicine.
Preferred Qualifications: Completion of a fellowship and/or significant scholarly and leadership experience in the area of interest.
