As a full academic department in a community hospital-based medical school, we strive to graduate highly competent and compassionate practitioners in emergency medicine. Our program encompasses clinical and didactic experience in emergency and critical care medicine, emergency department and emergency medical services administration, toxicology, teaching techniques, sports medicine and principles of research and publication. A curious and problem-oriented attitude is fostered by innovative teaching, case analysis, and cooperative research with faculty role models. Confidence is promoted through active evaluation, feedback, and development.
The Emergency Medicine Residency is an integrated program, supported by area hospitals, including Dayton Children's Hospital, Kettering Medical Center, Miami Valley Hospital (level 1 trauma) and Wright-Patterson USAF Medical Center. We are actively engaged in community teaching, research and service at all levels.
