Southeast Health, a 420 bed facility established in 1957, is one of the largest not-for- profit tertiary referral centers in Alabama. Owned and operated by the Houston County Healthcare Authority, it serves over 600,000 in a 75 mile radius around Dothan, Houston County and its surrounding tri-state (AL- FL- GA) area. 320 active medical staff spanning every specialty. 2,800 dedicated employees

• The first class of 163 students graduated from the Alabama College of Osteopathic Medicine (ACOM) in May 2017. ACOM is Alabama’s first osteopathic medical school and the first in the U.S. to be developed by a regional medical center.
• An ACGME Internal Medicine Residency Program began July 1 , 2018 with 13 residents.
